Counseling Services: We will look closely at current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that can help make decisions about whether specific thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are helping or hindering their wellbeing. Counseling is a collaborative process that involves a confidential and professional relationship that focuses on personal obstacles. We work objectively to clarify issues, gain insight into thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and to deal effectively with these obstacles in a healthy way. Educational advocacy assists families with identifying and supporting learning, behavior, and social concerns at school. The process seeks to empower students and families.

SUMMER KIDS SERIES 2020 - STARTS JUNE 15

Urban Balance Therapy and Consulting will be facilitating psychotherapy groups this summer for kids and adolescents. Group therapy is an effective form of treatment for children and teens. It allows kids to relate to one another, gain social confidence, belong to a group, feel heard and improve emotional wellbeing.

BALANCING EMOTIONS: This group will work to empower kids to navigate the many emotions that they feel. We will work to equip kids with the tools needed to process and manage negative emotions such as anger, stress and anxiety.

SUPER SOCIAL SKILLS: Active listening skills, initiating a conversation, body language, personal space, voice level and cooperative play would be the target during this group.

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS: As adolescents begin to explore relationships while finding their own individual identities, they need to learn what are healthy relationships. These can be relationships with friends or starting intimate partnerships. Self worth, unhealthy vs. healthy relationships, assertive communication and behaviors will be topics dedicated to this group.
