The team at UAPI Auto Parts has a long history in the automobile business dating back to 1963. It began with paint and body shop work. Over time, left over auto parts were accumulated as a by-product of that business. Before long, customers were starting to ask more and more about auto parts and the business model changed to accommodate the demand.
In 1967, Pipes Auto Parts opened. Soon other locations, including Pipes GM and Pipes Ford & Chrysler, followed specializing in car parts for specific models. A Pipes U-Pull-It opened on Mansfield Road in 1988. In 1990, another Pipes U-Pull-It was opened on Aero Drive, followed by a third opening in Bossier City on East Texas Street in 1991.
The company’s name changed in 1997 from Pipes U-Pull-It to U-Auto-Pull-It Auto Parts, and the business’s success continued. In 2003, the team opened up a Monroe location, followed by an opening in Alexandria in 2007. In 2018 the company's name changed again to UAPI Auto Parts.
