620 S. 38th Ave., Omaha, Nebraska, 68105
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Omaha is to create and operate programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. The specific purpose of RMHC is to support access to care, reduce financial burden, provide psychosocial support keeping families together, enhance clinical experiences and outcomes, and help families resume normalcy. The House program in particular provides all the essential elements of home inclusive of a warm bed, a hot shower, laundry facilities, transportation to and from the hospital, and regular nutritious meals to sick children and their families who live at least 35 miles from Omaha while they are utilizing any of Omaha’s world-class medical care facilities.

Events and Information
Despite the closure of many Omaha businesses, Ronald McDonald House Charities remains operational to care for the guest families who have remained here. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, volunteers are no longer allowed in the House at this time. That includes dinner groups that volunteer to shop for and prepare the evening meal in the House’s commercial kitchen. These dinners provide so much more than just the food. They provide families with time to decompress after a tough day at the hospital, the comfort and warmth of a meal they didn’t have to prepare themselves, and good conversation with other family members that understand exactly what they’re going through. The dinner hour carries a deep and lasting impact on families that reside at the House. At present, we are in need of people/groups who would be willing to have a meal catered for the guest families. To cater a meal or for more information regarding how you can help these families, contact Laurie Cope at lcope@rmhcomaha.org.
