Northern Maine General
Here for you since 1907
PO Box 310 5 Carter St., B310, Eagle Lake, Maine, 04739
Now a flexible social services agency, Northern Maine General was founded as a hospital in 1907 to care for the employees of a new kindling wood mill that was operating on the shore of Eagle Lake, Maine. The first one north of Bangor, the hospital later became an assisted living facility, named the Franciscan Home after the Little Franciscans of Mary who played a big role in our early history and whose ministry was healthcare. Northern Maine General is now a multi-faceted and flexible social service organization serving individuals throughout Aroostook County from offices in Eagle Lake and Caribou. To learn about our programs; our nursing, residential and waiver homes; our heated pool and gymnasium, which are accessible to all of our St. John Valley neighbors; or our apartments that we manage for the Eagle Lake Development Corporation, please visit http://nmgeneral.org/AboutUs (While there, please review our job openings. NMG is a great place to work; and we are located along the Fish River Chain of Lakes, Maine’s most beautiful four-season paradise!)
It is Northern Maine General’s mission to provide individuals with the highest standards of care, promote dignity and respect, encourage talents and individuality, and help all of the people we serve enjoy life to the fullest potential.
Additional office in Caribou.
