Attic Angel Association
The One and Only - Caring for Madison Since 1889
640 Junction Road, Madison, Wisconsin, 53717
Madison's most iconic philanthropic association has grown up with the city itself -- in fact, is responsible for many societal benefits in Dane County. That's because this group of entrepreneurial women have made it their business to bring solutions to identified community needs. Examples of their work: started a children's library (1899); helped build Madison's first hospital (1903); started the city's first nursing service (1908); ran a network of well-child clinics (1915); pioneered senior living and health care options (1953, 1975 and continuing today). The nonprofit membership organization raises money through donations and proceeds from its community-wide signature sales: Attic Sale, Classic Clothing Sale and Holidays Galore & More Sale. With gifts and earnings, Attic Angel Association provides annual grants to other nonprofit organizations that meet a specified need each year, focusing on children and seniors.
